Top Official Reveals Trump’s Major Public Lie About the Wall…and What He Says in Private

John Kelly, Trump’s outgoing White House Chief of Staff, is now admitting to a number of lies that Trump has told the American people. While it’s not a surprise that these are lies, it is surprising that Kelly is admitting to them.

In an interview with Los Angeles Times, John Kelly said “To be honest, it’s not a wall.” Then he added that Trump actually calls it “fencing” privately in the administration, so even Trump knows this is not going to be a wall despite his constant demands for a strong wall to protect our borders. Kelly could just let this go, but the fact that he’s choosing to bring it up shows that he knows its over for Trump.

The Hill also reports that Kelly confirms that Trump has moved on from the push for a concrete wall along the southern border.

“The president still says ‘wall’ — oftentimes frankly he’ll say ‘barrier’ or ‘fencing,’ now he’s tended toward steel slats,” Kelly added. “But we left a solid concrete wall early on in the administration, when we asked people what they needed and where they needed it.”

Trump is in the fight of his life for this border wall, but it’s clear to Kelly, and everyone else, this isn’t going to happen. Kelly realizes that he wants to distance himself as far as he can from Trump, because he knows in the end he will not want to be associated with him. He wants to get ahead of this before Trump’s inevitable downfall, even if it hurts Trump in the process.

While we shouldn’t let Kelly off the hook so easily, we do understand his efforts. He’s not been completely innocent in all of this and he will not be remembered for anything other than being another one of Trump’s henchmen. The fact that he’s willing to turn on Trump now and try to create some distance shows you just how bad things are for Trump and the fact that even key players realize what they are facing.
