Last Wednesday, news broke that the House Intelligence Committee would be releasing transcripts of their interviews with key players in the Russia probe, handing them over to the Robert Mueller team. This could spell bad news for a several Trump family members and/or associates.
Just hours after Trump’s state of the union address, in which he strangely equated national peace with ending the investigations (Nixon anyone?), reports surfaced that the House would be making the transcripts available to Mueller.
The interviews include people such as Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, former White House advisor Steve Bannon, and former White House communications director Hope Hicks. Keep in mind, it is a crime to lie to and/or knowingly obstruct a Congressional investigation with false statements, as Grant Sterm points out.
This is why Trump was so scared of Democrats flipping the House of Representatives. He knew, or someone around him with the intelligence to realize it knew, that this would be one of their first acts as a committee. And it has the potential to be very, very bad for him and his entire corrupt scam.
