Senator Elizabeth Warren (D. MA) announced over the weekend that she was throwing her hat in the ring for the 2020 Democratic race for President.
Warren, a frequent target of President Donald Trump, started off her campaign by suggesting that Trump may not even be who the Democratic nominee runs against, as he may be in prison:
“”By the time we get to 2020, Donald Trump may not even be President,” Warren said to voters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, gathered at the Veterans Memorial Building. “In fact, he may not even be a free person”, Warren said.
CNN reported Warren also saying,“Well come on. How many investigations are there now? It’s no longer just the Mueller investigation,” Warren said. “They’re everywhere and these are serious investigations, so we’ll see what happens.”
After being asked if she thought Trump should be impeached, Warren said it is important wait on Mueller’s findings first.
Warren’s announcement of running puts her in the what is currently large company, as many Democratic leaders have announced plans to run for their party’s nomination to take on Trump, or whoever replaces him should he be sent to prison for his crimes and corruption.
