“Impeach” has been the word of the last two years, as pundits all over have speculated on how the Trump Presidency will end.
Many have long thought that Trump would be impeached and removed from office stemming from charges of corruption, collusion and obstruction of justice related to his campaign’s and administration’s connections to Russia. Another line of thought has said that Congress could invoke the 25th amendment, declaring Trump unfit for the office, and he would be removed that way.
There is another line of thought emerging now, however, that Trump may indeed not finish his first term as President, but it won’t be through impeachment.
Scott Dworkin, co-founder of the Democratic Coalition, received the following from a former Bush adviser:
While it might be a stretch to suggest that Trump wouldn’t throw everyone in his organization under the bus to save himself and his trouble presidency, this may indeed be the best option for Trump and for America, avoiding the messy process of impeachment and removal, letting Trump use his incredible negotiating skills (sarcasm) to avoid prison time for he and his family.
